Moroccan hopes Swans will continue to bring best out of his game

The Moroccan has been impressive against the Swans in recent seasons, scoring a brace in Rangers’ 4-0 win during the 2010-11 campaign before earning the man of the match award for his display in the 3-0 home success at Loftus Road last term.

Mark Hughes’ men will go up against Swansea in West London this weekend football number as the new season gets underway and 23-year-old Taarabt hopes he can continue to torment the Welsh side under their new boss Michael Laudrup.


He told the Daily Star: “I can’t wait to get started and it’s nice that we start with Swansea as I have a good record against them.

“I always seem to play well and score goals against them.

“They must hate playing against me and will probably be sick of the sight of me.

“They do play very good football but that just seems to bring the best out of my game.

“I’m hoping I will be given a chance to play again and it’s important we start well.”

Taarabt was continually linked with a move to Paris St Germain last summer but iron on transfers recently signed a new three-year contract at Loftus Road.

After deciding his future, the former Tottenham player is looking forward to custom iron on transfers fighting for a place in Hughes’ side this season after a raft of summer spending.


He added: “I think I have matured as a player and was happy to sign a new contract.

“There have been a lot of new faces, with all the signings, and these are some exciting times.

“I want to be part of that. The club is getting bigger and bigger, with a new training ground and talk of a new stadium.

“Last year our aim was to stay in the Premier League. We achieved that and now we want to progress and improve.”
